John F. Cowan, President
John graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1977. In 1983 he founded a publicly listed, up-stream oil and gas company. The company drilled successfully across Canada and the USA. John and his company developed novel horizontal drilling technology to access depleted oil fields and large reserves of heavy oil. The company continued to grow, and in 1995 was merged to form one of the first Royalty Trusts in Canada. He then founded the first private Natural Gas Storage company in the newly de-regulated gas services market in Ontario.
In the late 1990’s, John left the oil and gas business to pursue his interest in manufacturing, specifically maintenance and operations. He combined his corporate experience with the MRO channel experience of his business partner, Ned Meyer to found Xtivity Inc. The company was expanded to include Dr. Stephen Pearce of Bryan Texas with a focus to provide best practice, maintenance inventory efficiency and optimization services. The xIO Inventory Optimizer was born from this collaboration and has become a unique, best of breed, new standard in inventory optimization.
John continues to sit on the Board of Directors of a number of public companies, one of which is currently the most active oil and gas explorer in the UK North Sea. contact
